Passion to race

Kevin Weeda

Kevin was born with a passion for racing.

From an early age he was exposed to speed. His father was a boat racer driving Blown Fuel Hydroplanes and Grand National endurance boats. Kevin started out on motorcycles and pursued Speedway bike racing internationally. That prompted his introduction to the famous sports car racer, Jim Busby, who helped steer Kevin’s racing aspirations, first as a sponsor then as a mentor.

Kevin made the transition into cars, starting with a Formula Ford and advancing to a Formula Atlantic. Realizing it required funding and raw talent to succeed on an international level he decided to put the racing on hold, temporarily. He pursued career interests in real estate development and other business ventures. Kevin never lost the “itch” to race and decide to come back to the track.

The journey came full circle when Jim Busby introduced him to the Ferrari Formula 1 Clienti program. More recently Kevin collaborated with Jim again winning a prototype race in Laguna Seca. He is currently 2022 Asian LeMans LMP2 P/A Vice Champion and racing the BT63 concept GT2 for Brabham Automotive factory racing in the Fanatic European GT2 series with High Class Racing. He has raced in the World Endurance Championship for team Lotus LMP2 which included competing in the famous 24 hours of LeMans, the biggest race in the world.
